HCID.. that is Human Computer Interaction Design, is probable a less used term in interaction design circles, but for it's precision I hope would be soon used more often in research and industry.
HCI is a vast, growing field with interests of many disciplines and hundreds of research papers each year.
Whereas the design fraternity is still in nascent stages about implementation of the HCI researches in the design process and methodologies.
HCID as a term would suffice the need for a new perspective in the HCI field and make room for designers to argue for their needs and concerns in the discipline in which they have so much stake.

It's interesting how you use that term! My program here is called the MS in Human Computer Interaction Design and we tend to stress on the Design term a lot more than any other.
With the traditions of design in India, I am sure that this will be a domain to look into a lot more than currently is, where the focus seems to be a lot on usability and just interface design.
